HPUMC has been engaged in mission in Mexico for over five years. Through our partnership with Juntos Servimos (together we serve), we have sent 15+ mission teams to work in the colonias of Matamoros.

Juntos Servimos is a community-based ministry, focusing on the needs of our neighbors. The ministry was created by missionary Larry Cox and Dra. Nancy Rodriguez. Their ministry specializes in all manner of humanitarian aid: home construction, food and water delivery, medical relief, housing for the abandoned and infirm, distribution of food, clothes, and other supplies, and education. Juntos Servimos is based out of a community center called Casa Bugambilia.

Casa Bugambilia acts as orphanage, hospice center and home for the sick, furniture shop, soup kitchen, school, computer lab, supply storehouse, and is the major artery through which God's love passes to some of the poorest people in this border city.

In 2007, HPUMC sent a record 5 mission teams to work with Larry & Nancy, with almost 90 people participating. Global Outreach hopes to match the number of participants in 2008.
