Mission: Austin Street Centre exists to provide emergency shelter and related services to the homeless person in a compassionate Christian community, and to provide “whole person” therapeutic programs so that the person in need might be better able to make responsible choices, positive changes and have economic self-sufficiency.

Services: Austin Street Centre is a residential, pastoral-care program, offering help and hope to those who may wish to get off the street for a few days.  Food, shelter, safety, psychiatric/ medical care are provided for all clients as well as the following additional programs:  Clubhouse for Persons with Mental Illness: serves clients who are both homeless and mentally ill
Pathway House: transitional living facility;  Psychosocial Rehabilitation Program: helping clients with psychological disorders transition smoothly into society; Step-Up Rehabilitation Program: dormitory living for clients with full-time jobs; Substance Abuse Counseling Services/ ASCAAP; Work Therapy Program: provides job skills, training, and education.

Volunteer Opportunities: On the fourth Sunday of every month, a HPUMC Sunday school class or group provides dinner to 350 – 400 people

Once every three months HPUMC Sunday school class or group provides breakfast to 350 – 400 people

 
The groups are responsible for:
    -  Menu planning
    -  Purchasing the food
       (approx. $600.00)
    -  Preparing, transporting and serving the food
 

Donations:  Pillows, towels, adult clothing,hand sanitizers, coats, backpacks, bankets, cold medications, canned foods.
