Summer Schedule: south_central_jurisdiction.jpg

Jurisdictional Conference Consecration Service on Saturday, July 19

Join our staff and Annual Conference delegation as we bus over to FUMC Dallas for the 10:30 am Consecration Service for the new bishops who will have been elected for our Jurisdiction. Jim Dorff is a candidate, so we can only hope he will be one of those consecrated. No charge for the bus ride; we will leave the church at 9:30 am. Make reservations with Richard at 214.523.2249.

Older Adult Ministries Heads to the Kimbell on Tuesday, July 22.

Join us as we travel to Ft. Worth to see The kimbell-picture---older-adu.gifImpressionists, Kimbell’s new special show of impressionist works from the Art Institute of Chicago, and then have lunch at Lucile’s. The cost is $25 plus lunch and we will leave at 9:30 a.m. from the church and return by 3:30 p.m. We’ll leave enough time for you to walk over to the museum or shuttle on the bus to the Amon Carter.

Some of the most celebrated and iconic works of the great Impressionist painters are coming to the Kimbell Art Museum this summer! The Art Institute’s Impressionist collection has never before left Chicago in such a large group, and it will be shown only at the Kimbell.

The Impressionists: Master Paintings from the Art Institute of Chicago will be a feast for the eyes more sumptuous than even the great Barnes Collection exhibition, seen at the Kimbell in 1994. It features signature works by the most beloved group of painters of all time, including Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Paul Gauguin, Vincent van Gogh, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec – a succession of geniuses who, through a miracle of history, worked largely in the same country and within the span of a single lifetime.

Please call Richard at 214.523.2249 or email stanfordr@hpumc.org to make reservations by July 17th.
